The Guardian Activate Summit

On 27th June this year, The Guardian Newspaper, News and Media will host its third Activate Summit 2012 in London, Kings Place, as a way of "harnessing and employing technological and social innovation for human betterment." This year's theme is 'Inspired by technology.'

SPEAKERS

Like other years, the Activate Summit 2012 will bring together some of the world's most influential figures, Mike Bracken, Government Digital Service, Cory Doctorow, author, activist and blogger, Ross Gardler of OpenDirective, Kevin Hartz, co-founder of Eventbrite and Daniel Hirschmann of Technology Will Save Us. Alongside many other prestigious speakers, these digital leaders will discuss and debate the critical issues and strategies driving a more connected, creative and cohesive world.

HOW CAN TECHNOLOGY CREATE A BETTER WORLD?

Web technology is reshaping almost every aspect of society, offering great opportunities but at the same time posing the biggest questions. Open access, the difficulty of storytelling through data, sustainable investment in technology startups will be addressed at the Activate Summit, helping find solutions to the critical issues surrounding the development and beneficial use of technology worldwide.
