Banking Ombudsman Scheme

A no-nonsense site which lays out in the clearest terms, when and how you can use the Ombudsman Service to complain about mistreatment from your bank. The service is free and has the power to award up to £100,000.



The instructions are simple and unambiguous, outlining how the Office works, how complaints are dealt with and how you must have reached deadlock (the actual term used by your bank) over a complaint before you can turn to the BOS. There is the facility to complete the complaint form online.
