Which business awards should I enter?

The Good Web Guide recently launched its third Website of the Year Award, aimed at small businesses and organisations. But what other business awards are there out there and who are they aimed?



MUMPRENEUR AWARDS

Launched in 2009, The Mumpreneur Awards are the UK's first national business awards, dedicated solely to mums (and dads!) in business. Entries for this year's awards close on 29th July. The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday 25th September 2011.

INTERNET BUSINESS AWARDS

Celebrating Britain's best B2B websites, The Internet Business Awards covers 32 categories encompassing all types of business, product and service. The awards are impartial, independent and objective an aim to seek out examples of the UK's most successful online B2B sites. Entries for this year's awards close on 31st July 2011.

NATWEST EVERYWOMAN AWARDS

These prestigious awards celebrates inspirational business women, recognising women who have overcome adversity. The awards aim to inspire other women to venture into the business world. Nominations close 22nd July and the shortlist is announced in early November with an Awards ceremony and luncheon on 7th December 2011.

NECTAR BUSINESS SMALL BUSINESS AWARDS

Open to all UK small enterprises and UK social enterprises, The Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2011 are free to enter and celebrate small business success by acknowledging best practice and celebrating great ideas as well as outstanding achievements. This year's awards are now closed. The 2011 winners will be announced shortly.

ACTIONCOACH BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Categories covering Entrepreneur of the Year, Best Start-up, Best Retailer and several others feature as part of The ActionCOACH Business Excellence Awards, aimed at small and medium sized businesses from across the world. Entries 2011 award are now open. The award ceremony will conclude a two day event, held from 19th to 20th August 2011 in Miami, Florida at the city's Fontainebleau Hotel.

The award aims to seek out the high-street heroes, market traders, eBay entrepreneurs, innovators, teen, mum and olderpreneurs that are making a splash with some great prizes up for grabs to those who make the final cut. Entries close at midnight on Monday 8th August.

THE GROWING BUSINESS AWARDS

Launched in 1999, The Growing Business Awards are the longest running awards for UK entrepreneurs and businesses. This year sees the introduction of categories including Made in Britain, Digital Elite and Local Hero of Enterprise. Expect great networking opportunities with top entrepreneurs including Theo Paphitis, Peter Jones, Julie Meyer and others, plus great media coverage should your business win an award. Entries open in July and the awards ceremony takes place on 29th November 2011

SHELL LIVEWIRE

Operating since 1982, this year Shell LiveWIRE will combine its Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas and Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards as away of specifically supporting the UK's young entrepreneurs. The award is open to those aged 16-30 in their first 12 months of trading, with £10,000 up for grabs for the winner. Entries close in August 2011.

THE KITCHEN TABLE TALENT AWARDS

Country Living Magazine's first Kitchen Table Talent Awards aim to celebrate the best of British home-grown talents. A panel of Country Living tastemakers, including small business entrepreneur, Emma Jones and pottery designer, Emma Bridgewater, will handpick winners for categories covering Best Cook, Gardener, Home Designer, Writer, Artist and Craftsperson. Of these, one individual will be crowned The Kitchen Table Talent of the Year. Entries to this year's award close on 3rd June 2011.

BIG VENTURE CHALLENGE

A national competition to find the 25 most ambitious social entrepreneurs in England with radical ideas who want to change the world. Winners will get an initial £25k grant as well as an opportunity to pitch for up to £150K of seed funding. Winners will also have access to first class business support, networks and mentoring designed to keep pace with the fastest growing social ventures. Entries close 30 June 2011.
