The Good Web Guide is the definitive guide to life online. It's the place to come to find the best websites across a range of different areas, including shopping, travel, information, culture, education and more. Here are a just a few things you might not have known about us.... 

1) The Good Web Guide began life... in 1999 as a publishing business with guides to the best sites on the internet. The first four books to be published in May 2000 were The Good Web Guide to Food, Gardening, Money and Parents.

2) As winter approaches, one of the most popular pages on The Good Web Guide is... 10 ways to beat a cold. Visitors spend approximately 1.42 mins mins on the page before reaching for another tissue.

3) When Stephen Fry tweeted... about the GWG's article about Mrs Stephen Fry's blog, on 18th November 2009, the site received 25410 visits within half an hour.

4) When Netmums won the People's Choice... at the Good Web Guide's Website of the Year Award in 2010, Siobhan Freegard, Netmums' founder, compared the awards to the 'X Factor for websites - without the money.'

5) The Guest Edited newsletters have... been running since March 2010 and TED Talks has made several appearances in guests' favourites. Awkward Family Photos, chosen by Chris Wild of Retronaut achieved an unprecedented number of click throughs from the newsletter.
