Domestic Sex Goddess by Kate Taylor
Things might have slowed down between you and your beloved in the last few years, but surely that's normal? You've got kids, you both work, you've ripped off those clothes a million times before….The last thing you want is one of these preachy ‘sexperts' telling you to be more inventive or spontaneous or to start using, God forbid, props. Far from rekindling the sexual flame, these bossy (rather vulgar) people seem only to stamp on the embers, filling you with insecurity when you were both quite happy having the odd quickie over the weekend, thank you very much.
LIGHT-HEARTED YET PRACTICAL
So why on earth would you be persuaded to buy Domestic Sex Goddess, the latest sex book by ‘sexpert' Kate Tayor? For starters, Kate Taylor is not some over-sexed twenty-something who should, frankly, mind her own business. She is married. She has two kids. Having written, by her own admission, three sex books of the ‘how-to-be-incredible-in-bed-every-night' variety in the past, she has learnt the error of her ways. And the result of this epiphany is not an embarrassing, demoralising and unrealistic lecture on the 'Joy of Sex', but an extremely amusing and approachable read with, should you feel inclined to pay proper attention, some fairly insightful, honest and practical advice.
OCTOPUS OR COCKLE?
The book is attractively presented with chapters covering various rooms of the house. These are divided into a mixture of subjects ranging from the light-hearted ‘A larder to boost your ardour' (Kitchen) to more the more practical ‘How to Date your Own Husband' (Living Room) and onto the more nitty-gritty ‘Best Ever Fellatio/Cunnilingus' (Bedroom). It's not easy to write about sex, particularly when you're doling out advice, but Kate Taylor delivers it with panache using laugh-out-loud phrases (ie . "…when he massages your love garden"), opinions (ie. "You don't really want to be rogered senseless by a Dalek, you want what that Dalek represents…") and perspectives (ie. "The clitoris is more like an octopus than a cockle...") to help water down the personal nature of the subject matter.
Buy this book for the humour factor, leave it somewhere for your husband, and who knows what delights could be in store.
