Crowdity
A brand new discount site, but, this time, with a twist, Crowdity combines networking with discounts by offering unbeatable deals that can only be taken up if enough people buy into the offer.
FIND A CROWD, FIND A DISCOUNT
Set up by Emma Kennedy, Rob Berrisford and Jessica Berrisford, Crowdity works by offering restaurants, hotels, retailers, entertainment venues and other clients a guaranteed group of takers in return for a higher discount than other sites receive. Each day a new deal is posted on the site - if Crowdity can convince enough people to buy the deal that day, then everyone gets it. If it can't convince enough people, then nobody gets it. Users are invited to share deals they like on twitter and facebook. Alongside each deal is a clock counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until the deal expires. Users can also see how they are doing with a notice showing how many people have bought into the deal and how many people are needed to make the deal valid.
GENEROUS DISCOUNTS
Participating clients include top London restaurants such as Villandry, members bar Stanza Teatro and cool American-style bowling alley, All Star Lanes and many others. Users are given a full break down of each offer, with details relating on location, how to get there price and what the offer involves and reviews from previous customers. Expect to find discounts of up to 50% off the RRP. Visitors to the site can browse previous offers including £25 free at Alexander & Pearl Luxury Lighting and Furniture, £20 off at Glasses Direct and two beginniner swing dance classes for £8, amongst many others.
Crowdity strives to make sure that the offers being made are genuine quality and not companies doubling their prices only to put a 50% discount on them (surprisingly common apparently). Be sure to check out the Crowdity blog.

This is a good strategy adopted by Crowdity.
It finds the discounts, you find the friends.
