Tumblr is a popular microblogging website, which allows you to post text, quotes, images, videos, links and audio.
GETTING STARTED
Tumblr was set up by David Karp in 2007. Based in New York, it claims to be "the easiest way to blog." It's certainly quick. The appeal of this social media platform is that you can set up your 'tumblelog' and start posting in under a minute.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
As with Twitter, the emphasis here is on sharing things and following others. The 'like' button makes it easy to let someone know you enjoy their content, while the 'reblog' button allows you to repost it on your own tumblelog.
You can upload MP3s, embed video files from sites like YouTube and customise your content. There are lots of themes to choose from, all of which are colourful and uncluttered. This is easy to use, lots of fun and very addictive.
