The San Franciso-based SlideShare says it's 'the world's largest presentation sharing community'. The site gives users the opportunity to get their PowerPoint presentations and Word documents out to a worldwide audience. Users can upload content, view, embed, share and of course comment on 'slidecasts' and 'VideoSlides'. In essence, this is YouTube in document form.

TOP PRESENTATIONS

SlideShare is pleasant on the eye, with quiet pastel blue making the browsing experience a tranquil one. It's easy to find your way around: browse the site by categories such as finance, education and entertainment. On the right of the homepage you'll see the top presentations of the day and on the left there are a series of featured presentations. Across the top of the homepage you'll find the slides that have been 'most embedded', 'most downloaded' and - a horrible neologism - 'most favorited'.

EXTRA FEATURES

You can upload content on a 'guest' account and set slideshows to be viewed privately or publicly. If you register with the site at a later date, this content will be moved to your 'real' account. If you do register, you can add messaging and and joining groups to the list of extra features you'll be able to enjoy.
