JustGiving

JustGiving is one of the most successful charity websites. Over 4,800 charities use the site and more than £250 million has been raised since it was launched by Zarine Kharas and Anne Marie Huby in 2001.

The site allows users to set up their own fundraising page. Users then contact their family and friends who make a secure donation by credit or debit card. UK taxpayers can claim Gift Aid which adds to the total raised. It's all very straightforward. There's even a 60 second video on the site which talks you through the process.

The site is a little more cluttered than some of its competitors, but this doesn't detract too much from its ease of use. The strong point of JustGiving is its sense of community. Fundraisers are given prominence on the homepage. You can access their page, which allows you to track their fundraising progress, read about their chosen charity and make a donation. There is also a useful Latest News section and links to all the different types of charity that people are raising money for.
