Based on the iconic 1987 movie of the same name, Dirty Dancing the musical tells the story of 17 year-old Frances ‘Baby' Houseman who, during a summer holiday with her family, learns to dance and a whole lot more.

During a heady, hot summer, Baby joins a crowd a world apart from her privileged upbringing, and falls head over heels in love with her dance partner, the charismatic holiday camp entertainer Johnny Castle.

Bringing Baby and Johnny back to life must have been a daunting prospect for the show's leads Hannah Vassallo and Johnny Wright. A trained dancer, Hannah was plucked from a role in the Dirty Dancing ensemble to play the lead.

A real inspiration to wannabe stars, Hannah recalls how she went to the Dirty Dancing audition without ever having acted before. In fact, she admits that the "nearly didn't go to the audition in the first place", as she didn't think she had a chance of winning a role.

Canadian Johnny Wright plays his namesake Johnny Castle; the role made world famous by the late great Patrick Swayze. Managing to emulate Swayze's natural charisma can't be an easy task, yet Johnny is well qualified to re-incarnate Johnny Castle. A highly trained dancer, Wright is skilled in both classical and contemporary styles of dance.

While you may not be familiar with the previous work of the two leads, one familiar face in Dirty Dancing the musical is Ray Quinn. Quinn is best known for his success in TV reality shows including 2006's X-Factor, where he came second only to Leona Lewis.
