Fashion bloggers arrive at Net-A-Porter
The Good Web Guide touched on fashion bloggers last month in its best sites digest and the power these indivuduals now court in the ever changing landscape of fashion. This week, Net-A-Porter has given over its magazine to the bloggerati, fashion's new power players. Hanneli Mustaparta models in a shoot, Purseblog's Meaghan Mahoney picks summer's best bags and Columbine Smille talks shoes. It also announces its power list of fashion bloggers. WHY ARE FASHION BLOGGERS SO IMPORTANT?
Fashion bloggers add new voices that offer an authentic and personal perspective on style, whether on the street or from the front row at fashion shows. It's a bigger landscape now, more immediate and we no longer need to rely on the glossies for a fashion fix.
THE BEST BLOGGERS
Net-A-Porter's panel of industry experts selected their favourite fashion bloggers. Amongst the judges were Colin McDowell, Grace Lam - style editor of Vogue China, Mickey Boardman - founder of Paper magazine and Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos.
How did Net-A-Porter's power list compare to the GWG's? You couldn't draw up a list of fashion bloggers without mentioning The Sartorialist and Garance Dore. We also picked Style Bubble and Red Carpet Fashion Awards, which was highly commended by Net-A-Porter.
