SendSocial partners with ByBox

In a day and age when all our communication is done online or by phone, there aren't many of us who keep an address book. As a result, when we wish to send something by post, we are required to phone, email, tweet, facebook or text the recipient to find out what their address is before sending. And if we don't have any of those, well, what a pain it can be trying to track an address down.

ADDRESS-LESS DELIVERY

Fortunately, a certain Ben Way, an English entrepreneur who started his first company at the age of 15 and went on to raise £25 million in his teens, has come up with a better solution. SendSocial is a brand new online service for address-less delivery, which allows you to send packages with just the email address or social media user name of your intended target.

By using SendSocial, the person receiving the parcel, and not the sender, gets to decide whether it's delivered via a message sent to them by SendSocial on Twitter or email. The parcel is collected from the sender's address, so there is no need to queue to post it and address details are kept private via the SendSocial barcoding system.

BYBOX PARTNERSHIP

Launched in 2009, SendSocial has this year signed a £2 million deal with ByBox, an established company within the parcel logistics and technology marketplace, to secure person-to-person deliveries across its 3,500 nationwide drop boxes at over 300 locations. This means that consumers can now send and receive packages through their nearest dropbox, rather than wait at home for the courier to turn up.

Jonathan Grubin, CCO of SendSocial comments: "We live in a world of increasing nomadic existences and a constant lack of time. With physical addresses changing so quickly, very often a Twitter ID or email address remain the only constant. Adding the ByBox service to our delivery options solves the next piece of the puzzle as our customers no longer need to wait for deliveries to arrive, but can collect them in their own time."

SendSocial's pricing starts at £3.99 for parcels weighing up to 2kg, rising to £7.99 for one weighing between 5kg and 10kg. For more information, visit www.sendsocial.com
