Will Ramsay of Affordable Art Fairs
Will Ramsay could definitely be described as the global art market's ‘quiet achiever'. Founder of the Affordable Art Fairs worldwide, Will has successfully introduced legions of first-time art buyers and collectors to original contemporary works by emerging artists. Since its inception in 1999, it has become something of a global phenomenon with fairs in London, Bristol, New York, Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne. AAF London takes place in Battersea Park from 10th - 13th March, hosting 120 galleries exhibiting paintings, prints, sculpture and photography, priced between £100 and £4000.
WILL'S FAVOURITE SITES
Chinese Food Forever - For a laugh, have a look at the videos on this site. Becky Yamamoto is an ex-employee of mine from New York, acting (and blogging) as her disapproving mother.
Streetmap - To find places I am going to. When I am off to somewhere rural I don't know, it is very handy having the Ordnance Survey maps as well as the road maps.
Safalra's Historical UK Inflation and Price Conversion - See what values from the past are at current prices. For example, school fees for my father in 1947 were £47 per term; that equates to £1,400 at today's prices; if only school fees were that now.
Affordable Art Fair - To remind me which fair I need to visit next! The Brussels one is next week (25-27 Feb). The next one is in London 10th to 13th March in Battersea Park, which is followed by New York 5th to 8th May. Then Amsterdam, Melbourne, Singapore, and Milan. Did you spot my flagrant bias in plugging this!?
Will's Art Warehouse - More bias. I founded the gallery 15 years ago and we sell a lot via our search facility on our website. Our gift vouchers and wedding list services are popular too.
XE Universal Currency Converter - To check out currency conversions. I have fairs in eight countries, with six different currencies, so this site helps a lot with my budgeting.
