OLIVIER'S FAVOURITE SITES
The Guardian - For its very funny minute-by-minute live accounts of football games, which I love.
The New York Times - By far the best newspaper in the world, both on and off-line.
Christies - To follow auctions and bid online. Auctions do not necessarily mean expensive or complicated; they're fun and very addictive.
Blogs - There are countless deco/design blogs which I love, but to pick just two: habituallychic.blogspot.com and ohjoy.blogs.com.
Dictionary.com - I probably use this more than anybody should but, as a foreigner, definitions and proper use of words are crucial to me. Less and less people can write properly and that is a definite shame.
Walkit - There are so many places to see and go in London that I am forever using this site; it gives you the best walking route and the time it will take depending on how fast you want to walk that day!
Chateau de Vaux - For shameless product placement and a nice story: it is the site of my sister who took over my fabulous 99-year old grandmother's chateau in Normandy where they now all live together. My sister does a line of antique linen, events and many other great things. I just like to visit the site to see pictures of where I spent so many holidays.
LINLEY
British design company LINLEY prides itself on its dedication to the pursuit of excellence in the design and creation of fine furniture and interiors. The individual sense of taste and style of the founder and Chairman, David Linley, is prevalent throughout. Through David's own training as a cabinet-maker in the traditional vein, the company draws on centuries of excellence in the British tradition of cabinet-making, and to this applies a modern interpretation creating contemporary items that have their own distinct identity and freshness.
