NICK'S FAVOURITE SITES
iPlayer - The last time I sat down to a scheduled TV programme was the day I connected my computer to my TV. The iPlayer is just fabulous and I get all my TV content through it, with no need to worry about timings. I just wish they'd stop playing around with the interface - its first version was great but the bells and whistles on the new beta version are, in my opinion, a step backwards.
Spotify - I've been hooked on this since getting my invite from a friend. I love the interface and it's just so fast at pulling out obscure tracks. If only I could download them all to my MP3 player, I'd cancel my Napster subscription!
Mashable - In these social media days, this site is always on the pulse for latest news and gossip and I devour post lunch daily email updates. Whether it's for the latest Twitter gossip or a list of great resources for web developers, there's always something good bubbling up from its content.
LoveFilm - This site is a great use of a business harnessing the power of the internet to give a fantastic offering. Given that I never get time to go to the cinema, I always have about 100 titles on the list waiting to come our way. I particularly enjoy all the user contributed elements although I don't always agree with everyone's feedback.
Google Analytics - It may not be a pure play website but as a developer and site owner, it's one of the most important tools we have at our disposal. I can't go by a couple of hours without a fix on the graphs and stats on all the sites I'm involved with. It's just amazing what you can get for free with Google.
Bike Radar - I do make a point of leaving the computer and getting out into the hills on my bike at least once a week. Bike Radar is a fab resource for every kind of riding. Whether it's bikes, kit or routes it just goes to show whatever your pastime there's a way that the web can get involved ...
