KAREN'S FAVOURITE SITES
TED - Streams live videos of inspirational speakers. We are big fans of Ted here at everywoman, and always try to tune in to the live events. TED women features women at the top of their game, from politicians to philanthropists. They cover a wide range of topics and are always sure to be great and engaging speakers. Videos are categorised in an intriguing way that manages to pique my attention even on unfamiliar topics.
Modern Muse - everywoman recently launched "Modern Muse", a major initiative designed to inspire and engage the next generation of female business leaders and entrepreneurs by showcasing women of today in all walks of business life; we are hoping to make a difference to 1 million girls. Our website profiles these amazing women and is full of their encouraging success stories. I am thrilled that each one is actively working towards our goal and look forward to welcoming more Muses to join the project.
Last.fm - A great site for expanding your music selection - it uploads your library and suggests similar artists that match your musical taste. I like hearing about music I wouldn't normally know about - being a bit old it's hard to keep up with all the new tunes!
Bloomberg - My morning cup of tea is always accompanied by a visit to this site- it keeps me up to date with news from around the world. Working on a daily basis with business women from a variety of sectors, it's important for me to keep on top of the latest industry trends and hot topics.
Space NK - Good for keeping up with the latest beauty products out on the market. I also love that I don't have to trek to the shops to find all my favourite brands.
Financial Mail Women's Forum - A great platform for discussing women's issues. I need to be aware of the attitudes and current controversies surrounding women in business, and this site covers everything from equality to the work/life balance.
