Jane's Breastfeeding Resources
Designed to provide a gateway to breastfeeding, pregnancy and childbirth information, this site is an excellent resource for unsentimental, straightforward help, advice and support for the breastfeeding mother. The site is run by Jane, a founder member of the Breastfeeding Network, on behalf of this UK-based national charity which arose after a group of National Childbirth Trust breastfeeding counsellors resigned over sponsorship issues.
The site benefits from real commitment and knowledge, and also provides an extensive collection of links to breastfeeding and childbirth sites.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Help & Support provides a forum where mothers or mothers-to-be can discuss their problems and questions with other women, a detailed FAQ section, and a hotline number that you can ring to get in contact with a Breastfeeding Network Supporter (between the hours of 9am and 9pm)
Breastfeeding Articles has an excellent selection of articles about breastfeeding, covering problems like mastitis, breastfeeding myths, sore nipples, working away from home, and more, by Dr Jack Newman who started the first hospital-based breastfeeding clinic in Canada in 1984, and has worked with UNICEF on the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in Africa.
