Netmums

Netmums aims to provide resources for mums by geographical area in the UK through a number of satellite websites that are run and edited by local volunteer mums.

You need to register to access the site then you click on your area, by county and then by town. With 840,000 members, Netmums relies on mums to provide the information in each area and it is done on an entirely voluntary basis.

Once registered as a member you can access lists of resources such as schools, playgroups, things to do, cinemas, churches, doctors, play areas etc in your area.

You can also meet other mums in your area on the Mums Boards, which have had success in building real communities. There are hints and tips for those just moving into an area. The list of resources is extensive.

Netmums are also active in campaigning on issues affecting parents.
