This site has a glossiness and an imposing size that you couldn't fail to find compelling. Moving through the links though is quick and efficient. The images themselves are high in quality and stylishly lit, a really very impressive sight even when the photos are thumbnails. The catalogue of the objects within the collections is excellent also, and many sections come accompanied with an audio tour, as well as information and photos. It must be said, however, that the sheer number and variety of the departments and their collections makes it difficult to keep track of everything there is to see and do on the site. This can make it quite difficult to pick out some of the masterpieces of the collection.

Online Shop: The online shop is slick and easy to use. If you are a fan of antiquated plaster and Past Times-style products you could spend hours in this area, but the site has been careful to include a decent selection of the more specialist publications available from the shop.



Learning is the educational section of the site, which is split into a number of sub-categories. Here you can find information on the museum's learning resources, a timetable of lectures, research facilities, and even an Online Learning section which features a high-quality guide to ancient civilisations.
