Hedgehogs

Hedgehogs is a wonderful site from the government to teach children about road safety.

As part of the Stop Look Listen Live initiative, the site is a follow on from the TV ads featuring singing cartoon hedgehogs to teach children the Green Cross Code.

As you open the site you are prompted to 'hog-in' or name yourself a hedgehog friend to take you around the site. You begin by taking a stroll down Hog street, where other hedgehogs tell you about potential dangers and safety tips.

The site features tons of games and click-throughs with information on how to correctly and safely cross a road as well as information on cycling and travelling by car, what road signs mean and how to dress to be more visible to drivers in the dark.

As you complete the various games, tasks and quizzes you collect Hogzcards and once you have a full set you can enter a competition to win a bike.

You can even download your lovable hedgehog friend to your computer and there are great MSN icons and screensavers. You can also watch the tv ads and view winning entries to their road safety rap competition.
