Rock n’ crowdfund: Paul Weller wants you to support his clothing line, Real Stars Are Rare.

Singer songwriter Paul Weller and veteran retailer, Phil Bickley, have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise £400,000 to expand their mod-inspired menswear brand Real Stars Are Rare.

The clothing line launched in 2014 and sells knitwear, tailoring, shirts and accessories, both online and in Bickley’s menswear shop Tonic in Notting Hill. The company has over 13,000 subscribers and over 10,000 followers across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. They have achieved sales of over £400,000, and all this with no marketing budget.

Bickley and Weller intend to sell 17% of the business for £400,000 to employ a design team who will expand the collection and to spend on marketing. The business plan forecasts a profit of £30,000 in 2018 and £199,000 in 2019. For more information on the crowdfunding campaign, visit Crowdcube.
