The Nine Schools

The Nine Schools imports beautiful quality antique furniture from China. The range includes 19th Century lacquered cabinets, ornate Tibetan trunks and simple rustic console tables.

IT'S ALL IN THE NAME

Nine Schools was founded over 10 years ago by cousins Henry, based in Hong Kong, and Patrick, based in the UK. The name refers to the Nine types of Thought in Chinese Philosophy, which includes Toaism, Yin Yang and Confucism.

ELEGANT AND REFINED FURNITURE

This stylish website showcases the simple and elegant pieces that have been handpicked to reflect the serenity and refined sophistication synonymous with Asian furniture. Items are usually made from Chinese Elm, Spruce, Jumu or Blackwood. The furniture originates from Northern China such as the Shanxi Province and was made in the Qing Dynasty, the last dynastic period of China's history which lasted from 1644 until 1911.
