GoodWebGuide - Official Partner of Race Online 2012

This website wasn't easily found, but it was worth it. BUBL is an information service, based at Strathclyde University, aimed at the 'higher education community', though it holds much of interest for the lay person.

This unfussy, non-illustrated approach may not be particularly striking in web design terms but it does have the virtue of being practical.

SPECIAL FEATURES

There are 16 items in the main menu, ranging from a Guide to Medieval and Renaissance Instruments to a Music Glossary and several specialist collections of musical instruments. From the top header, however, you can select links to each of the separate areas of the orchestra (brass, percussion and so on) and here there are new indexes, with many more articles to read. All in all, it adds up to a rich source, well catalogued and very easily used.

Have a quick look at Subject Menus at the top of the homepage and you will discover that BUBL actually covers a mass of different areas. Why, during the process of researching this book, it never appeared in a search engine result until 'Music' was the topic, remains a mystery.
