Lindy Wildsmith is a freelance food and recipe writer, who develops recipes for magazines, including features in House & Garden. She regularly appears at The House & Garden and Spirit of Christmas Fairs at London’s Olympia. Lindy is a great supporter of English produce and British cooking, with an interest in fish, game and preserves. She is the author of several books, most recently Preserves, published by Ryland Peters & Small.
Lindy runs the G2 Club, which holds regular demonstrations at the Wilton Court Hotel in Ross-on-Wye on the border of England and Wales. These take place on a Tuesday evening or Wednesday and include a meal. You do not have to be a member of the club to attend these demonstrations but if you are, you will receive advance information on club activities, discounts on G2 Club cookery courses, recipe mailings and a folder. Past demonstrations have included Great Classics, A Taste of Sicily, Cracking Good Recipes, Turkish Delights and Winter Italian. Prices start at £29 for members, inclusive of meal, coffee and tasting.
Her love of Italian food takes the G2 Club on a culinary expedition to Emilia Romagna annually.
Cooking on the Hill comprises day and weekend courses, which take place at The Hill in Abergavenny, an education and conference centre. The emphasis is on authentic Italian cooking and Lindy cooks with the legendary Franco Tarushchio. These are hands on days and will find you filleting fish, jointing poultry and game and making fresh pasta.
