Radiators and more

Did you know that DIY stores offer more than just tools and DIY equipment? You can also purchase home appliances like quality radiators and heating equipment online; these pieces are stylish accessories for any room and there are many radiators available to suit any room and budget. You can find radiators online in a number of varieties and types; from convector radiators to designer models and towel radiators - you can even buy radiator insulation.

Most domestic radiators in this country are heated by hot water through a central heating system. This hot water is then pumped throughout the home via radiators that are regulated by thermostats. Radiators transfer the heat inside them to warm the room; some have fins capable of drawing in cold air and heating it, so you may opt for the more advanced systems that can heat the room by convection. As warm air rises it flows throughout the room in a current; convection occurs by heating the entire room during this process.

Convector radiators are both stylish and useful sources for heating your home. There are single radiators, double radiators and double-panel radiators that come in a number of heights and widths in order to fit specific rooms and meet the heat requirements dictated by their size.

Designer radiators are perfect for those who wish to find something more aesthetically pleasing as well as to provide adequate heating. The Acova range comes in two, three or four column varieties and provides a more traditional style. Atlas radiators have more modern designs and are ideal for optimum heating performance systems. Eurupto offers a modern, tubular design that also comes in a square format. Eurutpo and Oceanus ranges offer a wide variety of colours and sizes; Espacio and Filomena also come in unique designs, while Keva offers distinctive space savers that attach to the walls in attractive patterns and are available in white or chrome.

Towel radiators are perfect accompaniments for heating your bathroom and come in traditional, chrome, white, electric and designer ranges. You can achieve a traditional Victorian look to match your bathroom or opt for electrical or white radiators that come in flat or curved styles. Designer ranges include simplistic styles like Belinda to modern pieces such as Fiametta, Filomena or Cadiz.

Once you've chosen your radiator, you need to decide what size is needed for each room. If you opt for a radiator that is too big, it will be a costly waste of heating or if you choose one that is too small, you won't reach the required temperature to adequately heat the room. Radiators should be placed in the coldest part of the room, usually below a window.

The British Thermal Unit (BTU), calculator can assist you when choosing the appropriate sizes for radiators by the amount of heat each room requires; or you can measure the room in cubic feet to try and find the BTU for the entire house. You may not find radiators that meet the calculations exactly, so it's best to buy slightly bigger radiators to ensure you get optimal heating. If you're unsure of the process you may wish to check with an installer.

Today, DIY has never been easier and with so many DIY stores and online choices, you can find everything you need to do any job correctly. Radiators are not simply sources of heating anymore; they are stylish accompaniments to help beautify your home. There is such a large selection of appliances that you can pick and choose from designer styles to match your decor to top-quality heating systems. Have a look online to find everything you need when it comes to heating your home and so much more.
