Heritage
Plunder this site for a wealth of information on owning and renovating old buildings. There are links to many useful organisations, but perhaps the most alluring is the intruiging, idiosyncratic Pavillions of Splendour, an ideal location for a half-an-hour's fantasy shopping. This award-winning site identifies buildings of architectural or historical importance which are for sale. At the time of writing, these included the birthplace of the Bronte sisters in Thornton, West Yorkshire, and also watertowers, almshouses, coach houses, a bakehouse, chapels and London's smallest house, a sliver of elegant loveliness in Harrow-on-the-Hill. You can register your interest and recieve updates if anything that matches your requirements comes on the market.
