PERSIAN RUGS

This lovely website showcases rugs in several categories; Persian, other regions, contemporary and antique. Persian oriental rugs are considered to be the highest quality for both hand-knotted and hand-woven rugs. Each stunning design is well photographed with information about where it came from. There are particularly beautiful rugs made by Iran's Kashkuli tribe and traditional styles from Mehmeh in the Joshegan region of Northwestern Iran and Sanandaj in Kurdistan.

PILED & FLATWEAVE DESIGNS

Other regions includes a range of piled and flatweave carpet designs from traditional weaving areas in Pakistan, India, Turkey and China. For vibrant colours choose rugs made by the Ersari or Mushwani tribes of Afghanistan.
