Zoo Art Fair

Zoo Art Fair is the East End's answer to Frieze Art London but on a smaller scale, showcasing contemporary art through a series of exhibitions, solo shows and stand presentations. The Fair takes place between 16th to 19th October 2009 at a multi-site venue in Shoreditch High Street, a five minute walk from Liverpool Street Station.

The venue has an interesting provenance, originally occupied by building merchants, Nicholls and Clarke, traders of glass, lead and colour and more recently it has been used as a film location for historical dramas.

WHAT TO EXPECT

There are four specially curated exhibitions by invited curators, FormContent, LUX, Studio Voltaire and Rob Tufnell. There are also solo shows by last year's winners of the Champagne Perrier-Jouet Prize, Scoli Acosta and John Jones Art on Paper Award, Clunie Reid.

There are also stand presentations from both commercial and non-commercial organisations, as well as works by individual artists will be on how. Exhibitors have been selected by a panel of art professionals.

EAST END MAP

The East End Map highlights over 60 contemporary art organisations within a two mile radius of the event, offering visitors a unique insight into what is known as Europe's largest cultural quarter.
