Cambridge Fine Furnishings
Set in a 17th century stable block, Stanford Hall is a suitably elegant place to learn how to create elegant soft furnishings. Whether you want to revamp your own living room or make a living revamping the living rooms of others, there should be something to interest you here. This straightforward site is packed with details of their many courses, but it could perhaps do with some inspirational photographs to get the creative juices flowing.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Workshops Use the pull-down menu at the top of the page to select a workshop from the extensive selection. These classes include a four-day course in making loose covers, to which students are asked to bring a chair they wish to cover and the fabric with which to cover it, a day's cushion making when you can make two yourself and 'learn the art of cushion placement', and an Advanced Tassels class which has been extended to three days as, after the two-day course, students apparently enjoyed themselves so much they didn't want to go home.
Certificate/Diploma These longer courses of two to three weeks are made up of a selection of the shorter Workshops.
OTHER FEATURES
Latest News keeps crafty types up to date with new courses on offer, such as millinery and machine quilting, and the credentials of instructors who teach them. There's nothing here you can't discover elsewhere, which is rather a shame as it would be a good opportunity to breathe a little life into what is a rather dry site.

COMMENTS
An impressively broad curriculum which is let down by its presentation.
