Go Antique

Set up by brothers Lee and Jon, Go Antique is an antique furniture company, specialising in restoring and repainting furniture. Shabby chic, retro and regency - Go Antique can turn their hand to anything.

THE RESTORATION PROCESS

Jon has been a French polisher for twenty years. With this experience he has perfected a unique restoration process involving dismantling, stripping, washing and sanding the piece before it is painstakingly spray lacquered with primer and two coats of the desired colour paint. It is then finished off with a layer of clear matt lacquer for protection. Using a spray-on lacquer instead of just painting with a brush creates a more consistent finish (and the Go Antique boys will happily send you a sample of painted mahogany to prove it).

ANTIQUE FURNITURE

The pair will restore whatever piece of antique furniture catches their beady eyes, whether it is a wardrobe, sideboard, chest of drawers or a writing bureau. They also like to keep a few pre-restoration pieces on the site, allowing the customer to pick the paint colour first.

HOME ACCESSORIES
