FORAGING FOR GARLIC

Written by Gloria Nicol, the site's founder, it offers a breadth of information and reflections on design, baking, foraging, home accessories, nature, household tips and Gloria's own attempts to ‘make more' of everything already at her fingertips. Gloria writes extremely well - not here the self-indulgent ramblings of some blogs - and it is a pleasure browsing the various posts, which include Gloria making candied angelica after finding this herb in a friend's garden, making friands for breakfast after misplacing the muffin tin or foraging for wild garlic to make pesto. Recipes are provided in all such posts.

HANDMADE ACCESSORIES

Gloria learnt to knit and sew from her mother, learnt to cook with Delia and learnt to grow things from reading books and getting out there digging. Her knowledge of design came about from keeping her eyes open wherever she went. Having longed for shop-bought things while she was growing up, Glora realised that she could make things that were so much better than you could by in any shop, so she opened her own shop, The Laundry, where, if you like what you find on Gloria's blog, you will spend a happy time browsing and quite possibly buying handmade accessories for your own home.
