Visit The Bath Decorative Antiques Fair

Antiques nuts planning a visit to The Bath Decorative Antiques Fair (10-13th March) should make sure to enter this year's competition, which will entitle them to a free ticket to the event, valid on any day.

There will be two lucky winners of the competition, who, in addition to receiving a free ticket, will win a personal tour of the event by BBC Antiques Roadshow experts Judith Miller and Mark Hill of Millers Antiques Guides on the opening day of the show, as well as an overnight stay at The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath and a bottle of champagne.

NEW EXHIBITORS

The Bath Decorative Antiques Fair has always enjoyed an international reputation, attracting a number of US trade buyers. This year, for the first time, the fair will welcome from Denmark, exhibitors Casa Nova Antiques, who specialise in North European country furniture, decorative accessories and garden items. They will bring a selection from their showroom in Denmark including a charming painted 19th century chinoiserie wooden cradle. Other new exhibitors for 2011 include:

Annabella Rothery who trades at Core One Antiques in Fulham, London SW6 dealing in English and Continental decorative furniture, lighting and mirrors.

Appledore Antiques, based in Devon, will bring country furniture, folk art and decorative accessories.

Blanchard Collective, based in Marlborough, will host a collection of 18 separate dealerships, sharing a vast purpose built industrial space on two floors. Dealers here will include Josephine Ryan, Lynda Franklin, Daniel Mankowitz, Pennireve Designs, Anthony Outred, Atrium, Alston & Ashton, Marcelline Herald, Richard Nadin, Tyson Ltd, Gallery Yacou and Turpins Antiques.

DNA Antiques, based at the Gasworks, London SW6, which deals furniture, objects and lighting from 17th - 20th century

DJ Green Antiques, from Sheffield, which deals in a variety of antiques for the home including bedroom furniture and garden pieces from the UK and the Continent

John Corbett, based in Winchester, which deals in carefully chosen interesting objects and furniture for the home and garden.

Morgans, from Warwickshire, which specialises in original Art Deco advertising sourced from France and the UK.

REGULAR EXHIBITORS

Regular exhibitor, Patrick Macintosh, chairman of The West of England Antique Dealers' Association will bring a wonderful selection of country house furniture and upholstery for which he and his partner at the fair, Richard Nadin, have become known in the many years they have attended. This year they will bring an item of great local historical interest - a spectacular 9 foot Gothic revival refectory stained pine refectory table c1870 from the Chapter House of Wells Cathedral pine table from Wells Cathedral

John Cornall, based in Warwick, will again attract a lot of interest with his selection of painted country furniture and folk art - he has recently returned from an extensive trip in Eastern Europe sourcing special pieces for the fair including a charming folk art carved and painted wooden figure of a peasant, Germany, 19th century (shown).

Core One Antiques, based at the Gasworks in Fulham, will be well represented this year with three residents showing at Bath this year with Annabella Rothery of AB Design and David Ford from DNA Antiques, who both visit for the first time.

Long term exhibitor Roderic Haugh will bring a selection of country house furniture and objects with a difference including this Scottish chest of drawers with the original painted decoration.

The Bath Decorative & Antiques Fair supports the West of England Antique Dealers Association and hosts the launch of the 2011 edition of the Guide to Buying Antiques published by the association on the opening day of the fair.
