Fired Earth Paint

During an economic downturn, we turn to brighter, optimistic shades to bring colour into our homes. At Fired Earth, sales in paint haven't dropped, the change is in the colours that their customers are choosing.

THE NEUTRAL YEARS

Are the neutral years well and truly designated to the interior design history book as we embrace bold colours that reflect our personality and bolster our moods. Duck Egg and Dragon's Blood are the best selling colours this year, whereas last year, it was Silica White and Chalk White that were in the top ten.

WHY THE CHANGE?

People are no longer buying property for investment purposes. They are looking to stay in their homes for a few years and so are bunkering down with colours they like, rather than choosing neutral schemes that appeal to potential buyers.

THE COLOUR GURU

Kevin McCloud, who has worked with Fired Earth for the past nine years, has developed a range that reflect his travels. These colours perform well under our grey Northern skies with 120 exclusive colours and five finishes. He says, ‘I've found colours that are interesting, complexing, beguiling which resonate to history and place.'

NATIONAL TRUST

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the company has launched a campaign to raise funds supporting the National Trust. The company will donate up to 50p per can of paint sold in their stores and through independent stockists. Kevin McCloud said of the partnership, 'I'm delighted we're working to raise funds for the National Trust through sales of our paint. The Trust is a diadem among organisations, working tirelessly to save buildings and landscapes that matter.'

So if you need cheering up, a paint job offers an inexpensive quick fix.
