Waddesdon Manor
Waddesdon Manor is the home of Rothschild family. Baron Ferdinand Rothschild created this Renaissance style chateau in the Vale of Aylesbury, starting in 1874, with his French architect, Destailleur and landscape gardener, Lainé.
The garden is essentially the same as it was when laid out by Lainé. A restoration programme initiated by Lord Rothschild in 1990 has turned the clock back to the beginning of the 20th Century. 150 gardeners were employed there when the garden was at its peak. Today it's managed by twelve full time gardeners with an army of volunteers.
Plan your visit using the site. There is much to see and gardening tours to take.
