Newby Hall

This is the website of Newby Hall in Yorkshire and its magnificent gardens. Owned by the Compton family and open to the public from Easter to auturmn, this late 17th century house has one of the most glorious gardens in England.

Newby has a good website which gives full details of what is on offer to visitors. Apart from the tour of the house, there is a sculpture park, an adventure garden for children, a rose garden and a plant centre. That is apart from the main garden with its glorious double herbaceous borders and broad grass walk running down the middle.
