Kew Royal Botanic Gardens

This website is a model of excellent content and good design. The home page provides links to a wealth of information on the work of these world-famous botanic gardens.



From the home page follow links to Visitor Information and News which includes current exhibitions and events. For real interest follow the links down the right hand side.



Science and Horticulture gives details of scientific research, focusing on the collection of plants and scientific literature. Research, documentaton and conservation are all based in the Gardens at Kew. Details of research, for example, in Tropical America and Africa and on Orchids can be found here. There is a link on this page to all the horticultural activities which are many and various.



Garden visitors may be most interested in the Collections. Follow the link here to Living Collections, where visitors will find what awaits them in the different parts of Kew Gardens, as well as in the wonderful glasshouses.



The website includes a section on Conservation and Wildlife and on Education. Kew offers Higher Education and Training, Schools and Public Education and the chance to become a Kew Teacher. There is a Wildlife Zone teachers' pack as well as a website for young children.



The mission statement which promises to share knowledge effectively on as wide a front as possible, is more than delivered.
