Fine Gardening Online

This online version of the bi-monthly US print magazine aims to be both useful and inspirational. As you'd expect, this site does a great advertising job for the print edition, but there's still a lot here for free. The advice given is sound, and a new feature is posted every week. The homepage highlights newest articles, but there's a full listing in each section.

SPECIAL FEATURES

The main menu bar leads to four different subject areas: Design, Techniques, Plants, and Structures. Each one contains a number of articles from the print magazine, alphabetically listed under title. There's no indication of the length, which varies considerably, until you download the article, but several run to more than one page. Design and Plants were found to be the most useful sections, with excellent articles on topics such as aggressive propagation, a great garden in just one year, and plants for knot gardens.
