Fine Wine

Fine Wine is a website literally brimming with information on wine. Handsomely-designed, it is full of interest.



The home page explains:



People in Wine - a radio player where visitors can listen to interviews with the leading lights of the world of wine. Two of the most recent are with the former owner of Chateau d'Yquem and with producers of Pinot Noir from around the world, with yes, a virtual tasting. The radio player works on an IPOD, so can be used on either a PC or a Mac.



Fine Wine Newsletter - the newsletter has been published online since May 2005. Tasting notes on the world's finest wines are one of its major features. The newsletter is available online through a gizmo called the 'vinigator'. There is a sample issue to view, the annual sub is £45.95 and the newsletter is also available in French.



Wine Industry Report - (WIR) - a site devoted to wine professionals with news, statistics, financial bulletins and reports from around the
world. The site also carries podcasts on relevant stories e.g. the state of the wine market in Germany with reference to the discounting chains with supporting data. WIR links through to Fine Wine and a Forum and blog (Blog au vin).



And for a bit of fun, though of course this is serious too, you can check out the weather throughout the wine-growing world as well as take part in the Forum, which sits on the left hand of the home page.
