Thirty Fifty
Thirty Fifty was set up in 2002 to give people the opportunity to learn and appreciate wine in informal settings. Chris and Jane Scott, the founders, wanted to demystify the subject by bringing wine tasting into people's homes. Equipped with a little knowledge, these people can then get a lot more enjoyment out of wine and are able to tackle a wine list with confidence.
Thirty Fifty offers a number of different tastings (wine and beer) to private and corporate clients. With wine consultants based around the country, click on the map to see which areas are covered. Some locations have additional travel costs. Thirty Fifty has recently added a tasting for English wines, which they believe will amaze.
For private and corporate clients, follow the appropriate links to what a tasting entails. Tastings can be for between ten to 100 people with seven to eight wines discussed and tasted within four price scales, bronze to platinum. An event could end with a quiz, which can work very well for corporate and charity evenings.
The Testimonials gives an insight into these successful events and a glimpse of past clients. Thirty Fifty have also found that this works well for hen parties too, where you can finish off the evening with a meal.
Thirty Fifty sell wine in their online shop. Scroll down the list or use the search facility. Alternatively there are mixed cases and special offers. Clients who have attended a tasting can become a member of the Latitudes Wine Club. This enables them to log on to a members' only area and view how they rated wines.
The revamped website has extended its News homepage which links through to the Wine Podcast, the UK's first and a number of interesting articles in Hot Topics.
