Grapevine Direct is a small internet based business that specialises in European regional wines that you wouldn't expect to find in your local supermarket. They source wines that are affordable (priced between £5 to £12), full of character and that have authentic terroirs. By buying direct from the producers themselves, Grapevine Direct are able to keep prices within feasible limits, at the same time as finding quality wines. Matthew Cole, the company's founder, to date has just concentrated on wines from south west France but the compact list is growing and will spreads its geographical wings.


Buy mixed cases or instead join the Wine Club where you can make excellent savings. Enrol for free and all you need do is to buy two of the quarterly mixed cases (£95 for 12 bottles inc VAT and delivery). You then receive a 10% discount off further additional cases. The quarterly mixed cases are chosen by region and with these, you receive detailed notes, maps, food and wine matching advice, as well as recipes.


The well ordered site is full of background information on regions, mostly on south western France. The Top 10 is a list of Grapevine Direct's most interesting wines, a list that is constantly changing. An online forum allows customers to post comments.
