True Taste Welsh Food Market

Ahead of St David's Day on Monday 1st March, the True Taste Welsh Food Market is set to take London by storm on Friday 26th February. The market will be held in Golden Square, London W1 (off Regent Street) and is open between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

A TASTE OF WALES

The market was first launched last year in St. Christopher's Place with twelve producers participating. This year's market is being held in a larger location giving Londoners the opportunity to try and buy Welsh food. Twenty-four stall holders will bring their award winning produce to the Big Smoke selling a mixture of food and drink. Expect to find artisan cheese, smoked meats and pates, delicious puddings, fresh fruit, vegetables and meat from local farm shops.

BACHELDRE MILL

Bacheldre Mill is launching a new range of sourdough breads at the market. To find out more about Matt Scott, read Emily Jenkinson's article on this modern day miller by clicking here.

Producers at this year's market include: The Patchwork Traditional Food Company, Black Mountains Smokery, The Pudding Compartment, Romy Cuisine, Kid Me Not, Bacheldre Watermill, South Caernarfon Creameries, Hawarden Estate Farm Shop, Pembrokeshire Fudge, Blaenafon Cheddar Company, Clam's Handmade Cakes, Tropical Forest (honey), Siop Fferm Glasfryn, Calon Wen, Gill's Plaice, The Knobbly Carrot Food Company, Sanclęr, Hybu Cig Cymru, and Tregroes Waffles.

The Wales True Taste Awards were founded in 2002 and are managed by the Welsh Assembly Government. The awards scheme recognises and rewards quality and excellence in Welsh food and drink.  Year-on-year the True Taste Awards grow in strength and popularity and are regarded as the 'Oscars' of the Welsh food industry.
