Hugh's Fish Fight: The App
Continuing his Fish Fight against the needless waste of discarded fish caught in the North Sea, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has brought the fight to your iPhone with Hugh's Fish Fight app. Working alongside Channel 4, the Marine Conservation Society, Fish2Fork and Project Ocean at Selfridges, the app is designed to help people buy and cook sustainable fish, as well as helping them choose the right fish when eating out.
RIGHT FISH WRONG FISH
It is tricky knowing which fish to choose when you're shopping and armed with the MCS's guide of Fish to Eat and Fish to Avoid, this is no longer a problem. It's easy to use; click on a fish, see an illustration and then click on a recommended recipe. Get to know the differences between a bib and a dab and you'll discover a whole new world of choices at the fish counter.
Recipes listed include some of Hugh's favourites and also others from top chefs who were involved with the Selfridges Project Ocean Campaign. Bruno Loubet, Allegra McEvedy, Mark Hix, Tom Aikens, Tom Parker Bowles, Jason Atherton, Angela Hartnett and Antonio Carluccio, amongst others, are all lending their weight to this worthwhile cause by sharing their recipes, fifty in total.
There are also videos, both on the Fish Fight and some useful how-to-videos on buying and preparing fish, catching and smoking it.
EATING OUT
Use Fish2Fork's restaurant guide on the app, helping to make it easier for you to find restaurants that serve sustainable fish.
Hugh's Fish Fight app will also keep you up to speed on the campaign with latest news and make sure you sign the petition.
