Tesco
Tesco claims to be the largest grocery homeshopping service in the world; a site which sells "books, DVDs, CDs, wine, electrical goods, flowers and much more". No doubt this is all true but you can't help wondering if, considering their success, this homepage could be a bit more flashy and inviting. The icons at the bottom of the page are not flattering to the good deal of information that is in fact offered on this site (from ideas on healthy living to details of Tesco policy and incentives to shop environmentally) and the colour scheme could do with a face lift too.
Having said that, the online shopping service they offer is really rather good. When you first visit the site you need to create an account before you can get on to the all important business of shopping. Finding the exact product you want is easy too; you can either type the name of what you are looking for into a search box or go through a number of helpfully labelled categories and sub-categories to find the product of your choice. There is even a special section for special offers, some of which are internet only - a real incentive to shop online!
A Number of features make shoping online at Tesco a rewarding experience. The Favourites List allows you to save time by automatically including your staples in the shopping basket every time you start a new shop. Another attractive options is the notes feature. Here you can write a message for your personal shopper such as, "I only want these if they are doing their 2 for 1 offer" or something similar.
Of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and you can only eat it if its been delivered. Luckily Tesco are fairly flexible and will try and deliver when's best for you. Having paid for your shopping you can then choose a delivery slot. Each slot is a 2 hour period so you can choose the one that suits you. Delivery costs £5 at a flat rate, but is worth it to ensure good service. If you order a product which is out of stock then it will be replaced with a similar product, which you have the choice to reject when the delivery arrives.
Tesco now offers an online price comparison service - Tesco Price Check - where you can compare the prices of groceries across Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.

A good online shopping facility if you don't get bored by the web-design.
