The Great British Kitchen
A small site garnering public support for plans to build a National Centre for Culinary Arts in Stafford town centre. The layout is clear and simple, but also attractive, and the site succeeds in making the centre sound like a great idea. Most pictures, and the map of the site, are very slow to appear. Choose the menu button from the top left of the entry page to find the main menu page.
Special Features
Recipes These have been contributed by celebrity supporters including Delia Smith, Ainsley Harriot, Josceline Dimbleby, Terence Conran and less obvious choices such as Ken Hom, Betty Boothroyd, and Nanette Newman. The recipes are not all British, but sound delicious...a pity they can't decide what units of measurement they're using.
Friends in the Kitchen A club hosted by chefs Lotte Duncan, Adam Palmer and journalist Tony le Ray Cook, seeking visitors' input and ideas. There is a feedback form and a survey.
Plans Includes photos of Stafford town centre, aerial views and artists' impressions, plus a large site map.
The British Food Trust A question-and-answer section detailing hoped-for achievements in related areas such as education, food in the home, welfare and food poverty issues, and public health. They also attempt to define 'good food' - and come to the conclusion that this could include chocolate cake cooked in a microwave.
Other features
A news section reproducing articles from the print media.
