Leite's Culinaria
Leite's Culinaria is known for its food writing, recipe collections and cooking resources. This slick American site revels in 'hot food and dry wit' and for any food lover, it is bound to while away some time very pleasurably.
Set up by David Leite, whose career in food journalism has spanned three decades, this year Leite's Culinaria won the much prized award at the World Food Media Awards for Best Food website.
There is an extensive collection of recipes, divided into three categories, James Beard House, Portuguese (reflecting Leite's background) and cookbooks. They have a team of testers who put the recipes through their paces. You can read excerpts from their reports before trying one yourself. A good few English cooks are represented in this section with Tamasin Day-Lewis and Gordon Ramsay flying the flag alongside Charlie Trotter, Bill Granger and Donna Hay. The recipes are supported by photographs from the cookbooks.
