Food Blogger Connect
Food Blogger Connect is Europe's premiere food bloggers' conference that is held annually in London over a weekend in August (12th - 14th Aug, 2011). Bethany Kehdy, the founder of FBC, wanted to create an event for European food bloggers so that they didn't have to trip across to the States to meet up with fellow bloggers. And so in 2009, the first conference was held and now in its third year, the event has grown, attracting some of the best food bloggers, journalists and insiders to the three day event held at the Hempel Hotel in Bayswater, London.
THE CONFERENCE
The conference appeals to both aspiring bloggers and those that have built up an established following. It is also relevant to food photographers and stylists, as well as people working in the food industry who want to find out more about this powerful and fast growing medium. The event provides excellent networking opportunities, a place to exchange ideas and talk about food, where, this year, you'll get the chance to listen to Tim Hayward, the Harden brothers, the WhiteOnRiceCouple, Todd Porter and Diane Cu and Fiona Beckett talk about food writing, to name but a few.
There will be interactive workshops, round table discussions and topics covered will include monetising your blog, turning your photos into income, shooting a recipe video, google analytics, food photography and styling, as well as getting published. A special food photography workshop with Beatrice Peltre of La Tartine Gourmande, limited to 20 spaces only, gives an insight into capturing food in its best light.
The cost for the 2.5 days of fun filled events is £299 for general admission, money well worth spending if you're serious about building a career out of blogging about food.
THE RESOURCE
