Dorset Pastry
Dorset Pastry makes some of the best butter pastry that money can buy and it is a far cry from the insipid slabs you find in your supermarket. With a string of awards behind them, endorsed by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, who would like to fill his freezer with this golden pastry, we urge you to do the same.
The company was launched by Moira Blake in November, 2001 principally to supply the food industry but they were soon overwhelmed with the feedback from their customers and the response at trade fairs. The retail range was launched and there has been no looking back.
The pastry is made from locally sourced ingredients, hand folded and rested, making it melt in the mouth. You can buy straight puff pastry or experiment with one flavoured with cumin seeds for a mellow nutty taste or try the sun dried tomato. For sweet tarts, try the shortcrust studded with vanilla seeds.
You can buy the pastry at various retail outlets, selected Waitrose stock it or buy online, through Graig Farm Organics. Just click on the link at the bottom of the pastry products page.

No freezer should be without several rolls of Dorset Pastry.
