Italian by Ursula Ferrigno
Ursula Ferrigno has long been a favourite of the Good Web Guide and her name lives on in this book. The hallmarks of her success can be found here in the simple recipes that make the best use of Italian produce. From staple risotto to roasted monkfish with garlic through to lamb braised with fennel and tomatoes, there are recipes for your high days and your low ones. Bravissimo.

Indian by Das Sreedharan
This is inspirational and highly accessible food from top restaurateur, Das Sreedharan, founder of Rasa restaurants in London. If this is your first foray into cooking serious Indian food, then Das is your man. The collection of recipes found here have been gleaned from Das' travels around his homeland and are also based on recipes used in his restaurants. The introduction gives you brief descriptions of ingredients, as well as some Indian techniques, such as making spice blends. We particularly like the hot prawn stir-fry, a crunchy prawn dish with curry leaves and onions. Sweet mango pachadi is a delicious creamy sauce which contrasts with spicy curries.

British by Mark Hix
Mark Hix is the celebrated chef who presides over three of London's most renowned restaurants, Le Caprice, The Ivy and J Sheekey. His modern approach to British food is reflected in this collection of recipes, which give our home-grown produce the chance to sing for themselves. The recipes are unadulterated, simple English fare and the best.

Healthy by Lesley Waters
There had to be a catch in it somewhere and healthy food raises its head. But with Lesley Waters, TV chef extraordinaire, this is food that you will rush to cook. Expect clean flavours, no cream and buckets full of goodness. We think you will love it.
Family by Silvana Franco and Wine by Susy Atkins round up this well-balanced series.
