Biscuiteers Book of Iced Biscuits
Who couldn't be charmed by a box of handmade iced biscuits from Biscuiteers? With its seasonal collections of delicious biscuits that are presented in pretty tins, it's no wonder that the company has been such a huge success since it first stepped onto the scene in 2007.
Biscuiteers Book of Iced Biscuits spills the beans on how its biscuits are made, its favourite recipes and most importantly gives the lowdown on icing techniques. It is an art but lots of fun can be had trying it out at home. Get the kids together with all the necessary ingredients for making biscuits along with royal icing, food colourings and embellishments and you'll have a rewarding time, even if a bit chaotic and messy.

TREACLE SPICE BISCUITS
Good for Halloween, Christmas and gingerbread men, this recipe makes 24 biscuits.
INGREDIENTS
200g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp mixed spice
50g muscovado dark brown sugar
100g salted butter, diced
50g black treacle or molasses
METHOD
1. Sift the flour, baking poswer and spices into a mixing bowl. Add the sugar and mix well.
2. Add butter, Using the tips of your fingers, rub the ingredients together until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
3. When all the butter is evenly mixed in, make a well in the centre and add the treacle and bringit all together. You will know when it is all mixed in as it will have an even colour all over with not too many streaks of treacle.
4. Place the dough onto a clean worktop. Divide into two and squash the dough into two even-sized flat discs. Cover and chill until ready to use or roll out immediately. The dough should be 5mm thick.
