Open Farm Sunday

Take the kids and visit a farm near you this Sunday, 9th June 2013.

Open Farm Sunday is an annual event that gives everyone the chance to meet the farmers who grow their food and care for the countryside. On 9th June this year, why not take yourself and the kids and learn more about where your food comes from?

FARMING WITHIN THE ENVIRONMENT

Open Farm Sunday has been running since 2006 and is organised by the charity, LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) Last year 420 farms opened their gates welcoming 184,000 visitors. Farmers are not only responsible for food production, they are the custodians of vast tracts of the natural countryside and also of the wildlife that resides therein. Open Farm Sunday works hard to show how respectful most farmers are of this natural environment, despite the need to work the land for food.
